Our team is committed to supporting your safety and well-being with tools, resources, and guidance to help you feel confident in your day-to-day life in New York City, including working relationships with NYPD and NYFD.ÌýÌý

Campus Safety MeasuresÌý

24/7 security presence

¹ú²ú´«Ã½ Public Safety (VUPS) leadership and personnel will have an active presence on the Chelsea campus to support a dedicated on-site coverage around the clock for students, faculty and staff in New York City.Ìý

Emergency call buttonsÌý

Similar to the blue light emergency phone pillars in Nashville, ¹ú²ú´«Ã½â€™s Chelsea campus has emergency call buttons to quickly connect with local police and emergency services if immediate assistance is needed.Ìý

Secure building and campus accessÌý

Campus is a gated community with access managed by ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ Card Services so that only authorized individuals can enter and spaces remain secure.Ìý

Enhanced lightingÌý

As part of property renovation efforts, campus upgrades include additional lighting to increase visibility and enhance safety on campus.ÌýÌý

VandySafe AppÌý

¹ú²ú´«Ã½â€™s customized safety app is fully functional in New York City and is your hub for safety tools.ÌýÌý

Emergency PreparednessÌý

  • ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ provides emergency guidance and resources to help community members respond quickly and effectively in critical situations.Ìý
  • Emergency guides are available through VandySafe.Ìý
  • Key protocols include the Run, Hide, Fight model in situations.
  • Community members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with proactively. Ìý

Health & Wellbeing Resources

Students studying at the ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ in NYC campus are assessed mandatory fees consistent with the Nashville campus that provide access to ¹ú²ú´«Ã½â€™s comprehensive Student Care Network — a coordinated continuum of services designed to support your wellbeing, growth, and success. Wherever you are studying, you have access to trusted professionals and resources committed to helping you thrive.Ìý

Through this network, students can connect with Student Care Coordination (SCC) or on-site staff for support in navigating available resources, both locally and through ¹ú²ú´«Ã½. These teams work together to help you identify options, make connections, and access the care and support you need.

  • Student Care Coordination (SCC) – Virtual Support

    Student Care Coordination serves as a central starting point within the care network. SCC care coordinators work with students to assess needs, provide guidance, and connect them with appropriate resources — both within ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ and in the New York community when needed.Ìý

  • Center for Student Wellbeing (CSW) – Virtual Coaching

    Students participating in the ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ in NYC program can access virtual medical and mental health care through the following telehealth services:Ìý

    • – Recommended as the first point of care for urgent medical needs, offering free virtual visits with medical providers. (Additional details coming soon.)
    • – Offers free virtual therapy and psychiatry services to support your mental health and well-being.
  • Self-Directed Wellbeing Resources

    Students also have access to digital tools through the Student Care Network that support mental health and wellbeing anytime:Ìý
