Culminating Projects

As the second half of Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½, the culminating project is simply what students create informed by their immersive experience(s). Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ culminating projects are as unique as the students who create them!Ìý

Spring 2026 Graduates must submit their culminating projects by Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Every student must submit a culminating project submission form to complete Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ and it must be approved by a ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ faculty member.

Formats for Culminating Projects

Like immersive experiences, culminating projects can be completed as part of a pre-approved program of study, a tagged class, or as an independent project with support from an Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ faculty adviser.  Depending on the project, presenting at a showcase or fair may be required.

Projects can take many forms, including but not limited to:

  • Presentation (e.g., conference, research fair, Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ showcase)
  • Artwork, installation, or exhibit
  • Media project (e.g., podcast, website, film, recording, etc.)
  • Musical composition
  • Live performance (e.g., theatre, musical, dance, etc.)
  • Portfolio (can involve multiple formats and products)
  • Creative writing

Submit Your Project

When projects are ready to be marked as complete, all students submit their project using the . Students submit only one culminating project form. Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ faculty advisers receive an email with a link to the submission, review it, and approve when projects are complete.

The title you given by students to their culminating projects and the primary immersive experience pathway are added to students' transcripts upon completion of the requirement.

Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an adviser in the Career Center to discuss how to add this project to their resume!

Once the culminating project form is approved by the faculty adviser, Immersion ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ is complete. Only one project can be counted and once complete no changes are permitted.
