    Daniel Work

    Professor of civil and environmental engineering and computer science and director of graduate studies in civil engineering

    Daniel Work is a Chancellor Faculty Fellow and professor in civil and environmental engineering, computer science and the Institute for Software Integrated Systems at ¹ú²ú´«Ã½. Daniel pioneered methods for monitoring and controlling road traffic using vehicles, not fixed infrastructure, to sense and control road congestion.

    Jonathan Sprinkle has been a professor of computer science at ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ since 2021. He is a member of the Institute for Software Integrated Systems, where he serves on the Executive Council with responsibility for partnerships. His research interests and experience are in model-based approaches to cyber-physical systems, and he teaches courses ranging from systems modeling and control to mobile application development and software engineering.

  • Researcher Spotlight

    William Barbour (PhD’20) is a research scientist at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems, researching data and artificial intelligence applications to transportation systems. He led the software development of the AI-decision support system that powers the integrated corridor management of the I-24 Smart Corridor.

    Matt Bunting is also a research scientist at ISIS. He first connected with Jonathan Sprinkle when they were conducting research at the University of Arizona.
