The Karijolich Laboratory at ¹ú²ú´«Ã½ Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join an interdisciplinary research program investigating how RNA processing and chemical modifications shape host-virus interactions and innate immune signaling.

Example research areas include:

• Crosstalk between RNA quality control pathways and antiviral signaling
• Molecular mechanisms in self vs. non-self RNA discrimination
• Viral strategies to manipulate host RNA processing machinery

We welcome applicants from diverse scientific backgrounds. Individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas are especially encouraged to apply:

• RNA biology and epitranscriptomics
• Host-Virus interactions
• Gene regulation and functional genomics
• Cell and molecular biology
• Bioinformatics, computational biology, and large-scale data analysis

Responsibilities

• Design and execute independent and collaborative research projects
• Apply biochemical, molecular virology, and/or genomic approaches (e.g., CLIP-seq, RNA-seq, mass spectrometry, biochemical reconstitution, cell- and animal based infection models)
• Analyze, interpret, and present data at lab meetings and conferences
• Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
• Maintain rigorous and reproducible research practices

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. (or be nearing completion) in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, virology/immunology, or a related field, and have demonstrated research productivity.
