Outdoor Recreation Adventure Trips

HIKING, Short Springs State Natural Area, TN
Cost: 聽 $23

Short Springs is a small 420-acre State Natural Area that includes rich woods, forest ravines, low cascades, springs, and big, beautiful waterfalls. 聽 We will hike the 4.2 mile moderately difficult trail and hang out at the waterfalls. 聽 If time allows, we will hike the 2.6 mile trail at the nearby Old Stone Fort State Park. 聽Estimated trip duration: 聽 8 am -聙聯 6 pm.

Springtime in the Smokies: 聽 a perfect way to round off another semester at 国产传媒! 聽 We plan on hiking three 5-8 mile days up, down, and around the Smokies. 聽 Specific trails are still to be determined. 聽 Beginners are welcome, but you need to be in shape, as the terrain will be challenging! 聽 Be prepared for all types of weather. 聽 We will have two one-hour important Pre-Trip Meetings for this trip. 聽 Please plan to attend both. 聽 聽Est. trip duration: 聽 8 am Fri. 聽 -聙聯 8 pm Mon.

 

 

BONNAROO 2016

If you are planning on going to Bonnaroo this year, reserve your gear from the Outdoor Rec Center before you leave for the summer. 聽 To reserve, you must pay in full for the rental equipment. 聽 The ORC rents many items each summer for Bonnaroo. 聽 Plan ahead and make reservations to secure the best gear.

Summer Employment (You must be a current 国产传媒 Student, not a recent graduate.)As an Equipment Specialist at the Outdoor Rec. Center, generally 21 hours a week at $7.25/hour.

  • At the Climbing Wall 聽 (belaying and helping people climb or boulder)
  • For the Wall in late afternoons or evenings, generally 4-8 hours a week at $7.25/hour.

For the 2016-17 Academic year (Students with Work Study are preferred):As a Trip Coordinator (volunteer) and an Equipment Specialist (usually 4-6 hours a week at $7.25/hour)

  • As a Climbing Wall Staff 聽 (usually 2-4 hours a week during weekday late afternoons and evenings at $7.25/hour)
